Orange means at the end of this questionnaire.
1)
Tell us a little bit
about yourself. How did you get into fitness?
I have always been
active. I played competitive volleyball
in high school and continued to work out when I went to college. My true “aha” moment came 3 days before I
graduated from college. I was diagnosed
with thyroid cancer. I knew then that I
really needed to take care of myself.
Not just with exercise but with my diet as well.
2)
What does being a
fit mom mean to you?
It means being the best
role model I can be for my children. I
want to instill in them the knowledge about being active and living a healthy
lifestyle, so that they can be confident in their skin from the start.
3)
Whats one thing you
would say to a mom that wants to be a Fit Mom?
Take baby steps! Make smalls changes in your lifestyle and
before you know it they add up! Diving
in full force will leave you overwhelmed and you are more likely to quit. Its the small changes that create the big
picture.
4) Funny Story about being
a Mom that you wish you would have known prior? This could be related to your
pregnancy, delivery or having kids grow up.
Time really flies by! Cherish all those moments while they are
little and write down all the funny things your child says or does now so that
you can reminisce and show them when they get older. I have a 3 year old daughter and just had a
baby boy. My daughter asked if she could
brush his hair, so of course I said yes.
The next day my whole family was asking what happened to his hair?! ...
I looked and the spot on top where she was brushing was missing hair. Apparently she had brushed off some of his
baby hair. lol So now he has a very prominent receding
hairline! :)
5)
How do you manage
life as a mom? Most people find it hard to find balance while being a
mom. How do you find your balance?
One day at a time. I set health goals for each day. They are really simple but make a huge
difference; Workout, drink a certain
amount of water, and eat at least 5 small clean meals. Those small goals create a huge difference!
6)
Are you someone that
focuses on nutrition? If so what is your nutrition structure and if not what is
important to you about nutrition?
Yes, nutrition is
huge! I concentrate on eating every 2-3
hours a small clean meal.s I also drink
at least half my bodyweight in ounces of water and green tea. You can workout every day really hard but if
your nutrition is not on point you will never see results!
7) Do you workout weekly and if not what do you do to stay active?
I do! I workout at least 3 days at the gym and 2
days at home.
8)
Any words of advise
to new moms trying to be healthy while having kids? This could be organization,
priority, balance, nutrition, fitness, mindset, spiritual, environment related
or anything that you think is important in being a healthy mom.
My advice would be, start
your kids out eating what you eat. I
make healthy meals all the time and my daughter eats what I eat. She knows no different. She loves things that some kids have never
heard of which I think is pretty cool. It makes cooking much easier too when
you are not making 2 different meals.
Also, if your kid does not like something on the first try, keep
introducing it. Sometimes it can take up
to 13 times of introducing before the child adapts the flavor.
Please add any social media
sites you would like us to add to your questionnaire so that we can promote you
